Why use an Inversion Table?
Inversion therapy is a method of treating back pain by diminishing the influence of gravity, reducing the compression of the vertebrae and discs and allowing the supporting muscles and ligaments of the spine to relax. Off-loading the spine can be achieved by using an inversion table or through Aquatic therapy.
This is typically performed on what’s called an inversion table. The table allows you to lie on your back relaxed, in an inverted position. This position eliminates some or all gravitational compression, depending upon how far back you position your body.
Inversion therapy is a safe and effective way to reduce the mechanical stress on your lower spine. Numerous clinical studies published in reputable medical journals have confirmed that inversion really does increase the separation between the discs of the spine, and separation of the facet joints which brings relief from back pain.
Inversion therapy puts gravity to work for you by placing your body in line with the downward force of gravity. Using your own body weight as a natural form of traction, inversion elongates the spine by increasing the space between the vertebrae, relieving the pressure on discs, ligaments and nerve roots. Less pressure means less back pain.
Benefits of Inversion Therapy:
* Reduce back pain
* Provide care and feeding for discs
* Achieve functional fitness
* Improves blood circulation and posture
* Train core muscle groups without loading the spine
* Recover from high impact workouts
* Increases body flexibility
* Reduce pain in overworked muscles
* Strengthen ligaments
* Relieve stress
* Stimulate circulation
* Train for balance and orientation
* Increases mental alertness
